The RISM Digital Center is part of the Répertoire International des Sources Musicales (RISM), the international organisation founded in 1952 whose aim is to inventory music sources worldwide. The RISM network also comprises the RISM Editorial Center in Germany and working groups in over 30 countries. The RISM Digital Center was established in 2021 as a continuation of the Swiss RISM Office, itself founded in 1956 and that has operated as an independent association since 1996.
